Maranatha 5K raises $23,597.99 for Seminarians
The CSA presented Archbishop Rodi with a check for the proceeds of the Maranatha 5K - the total amount raised to go towards the education of our Archdiocesan seminarians was $23,597.99! This brings the 2-year total for the Maranatha 5K to $47,105.98! Thank you to all who sponsored, volunteered, and participated in this year's race! Mark your calendars for next year's race: March 15, 2014.

Welcome to the Catholic Student Association!
The Catholic Student Association was founded at the University of South Alabama in 1964. We have had a long tradition of providing faith and fraternity to the Catholic student population at USA. In 2003, the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Student Center opened and Fr. Alejandro Valladares was appointed as full-time Campus Minister. Today, the Catholic Student Center is a place for worship, prayer, and collegiate fraternity. Located across the University Campus at 6051 Old Shell Road, we are within walking distance of everything the University offers. All Catholic students are invited to sign-up and become members of the CSA and participate in our faith-based community. With praise, worship, and prayer as a basis of all we do, we have daily activities and special events which include retreats, pilgrimages, canoeing, and a hiking trip to the mountains. CSA's Daily Schedule
Read this week's bulletin for our daily schedule and times.
A brief description of the evening events are below:
- Mondays: Catechesis Class, for any USA student interested in receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation, becoming Catholic, or deepening their knowledge of the Catholic Faith. Classes are at 7pm (Mass 6pm).
- Tuesdays: Theology of the Body Class, based on the teachings of Bl. Pope John Paul II. We must increase our knowledge and understanding of what is moral, true, and appropriate about relationships and the human body. This class will provide you with the "why" behind God's call to be chaste and pure in the body. Classes are at 7pm (Mass 6pm).
- Wednesdays: Fr. Alex leads Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with Prayer Ministry for students, and a teaching from the Sacred Scriptures, with Mass following. Begins at 7:15pm (Mass 8:15pm).
- Thursdays: Our popular social night at the CSA, join in community and fellowship as a home-cooked meal is prepared by Fr. Alex and Mr. Kim and spend time with over 50 of your closest friends! Dinner Nights are at 5:30pm (Mass 5pm).
